Molly’s Café  - an update.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the public meeting on 8th July to consider the challenging financial position of Molly’s Café which will arise as the lease expiresand the business starts to pay rent.  A small group of volunteers who each bring a variety of relevant skills and experience, are now working on the most viable suggestions raised both at the meeting and since, with Jo Vipan, the café manager and the Directors with the aim of implementing as many as possible over the coming months.   This comprehensive plan includes a review of the menus, food suppliers and the possibility of themed food events which hopefully will increase both customer numbers and revenue.  A refresh of the look and feel of the café to reflect the vibrant spirit of the community is also being considered.

At the July meeting, many people indicated that they would be willing to provide regular voluntary donations to help support the café and keep it open as a much-needed community hub.  Thank you to all of you who indicated your willingness to support in this way.  Those who volunteered to do so, should by now, have received an email with the details about how to make those donations.  Anyone else similarly open to making a monthly donation, can leave their details on a questionnaire in the café or email office@communitycafe.vnworks.net. Inevitably, menu prices will need to rise if the café is to make sufficient income to meet the rising outgoings.  For now, all of us can support the café by continuing to use it on a regular basis and encourage our friends and neighbours to do the same.   This is a wonderful community hub which is so important to so many of you and we are grateful for your continued custom. On behalf of the Directors and all the Team at Molly’s, thank you for your continued loyalty and support.

Remember if you bring your OWN CUP for TAKEAWAY COFFEES - then you get a 50p discount

Thanks

Jo and team
