Molly’s Cafe officially opened on Saturday 7th March 2020

So we had a week to get into the swing of things and then formally opened on Saturday March 7th 2020. The event was well attended with well over 150 people popping in and tasting items from the menu! The next few weeks went really well until COVID 19 struck! We had to close on March 21st and were in lockdown until July 13th. It was a frustrating time but it gave us time to analyse those early weeks, tweak the menu, look at options and plan for reopening. Of course things are a bit different now- we have a few less tables inside, a screen at the counter, easy access to anti bac and the staff are wearing visors- but the food and drink is still amazing and the welcome is as warm as ever. I have a fantastic group of volunteers supporting me and we really do love serving the village community and hearing the brilliant feedback.

One day when things are a little more ‘normal’- we plan to hold lots of events like job hunting and CV writing workshops, repair cafes, crafting etc etc.
